Photographer's Note

The pic shows the Brandenburg Gate, a famous landmark of Berlin, Germany. Costruction of the gate was commissioned by King Frederick William II of Prussia and was consrycted in the late 18th century. It was the most important out of the several gates through which one entered Berlin those days. On the top of the gate is the Quadriga, a chariot of four horses driven by Victoria, the goddess of Victory.

The gate faces the famous Pariser Platz which is now closed to vehicular traffic. The gate was closed for 30 years as the Berlin Wall was costructed in front.
It was restored fully during 200-2002.
