Photographer's Note
This is a view of the Lagos bay taken from Ponta da Piedade.
The city, like most Portuguese cities, lies on the side of a river, and this one comes into the sea at the far left end of the photo. The river somehow makes the border between two completely different types of seaside. Here on the left begin the cliffs that extend to Sagres, and at the far bottom of the photo can be seen the flat sandy beaches that stretch on until Praia da Rocha.
Lagos has seen it’s size double during the last decades, but life goes on being easy over here. As the scenery is magnificent, people move around walking rather than driving, therefore no major traffic jams happen.
This region has been chosen by lots of Brits to enjoy their retirement, and together with the constant flow of tourists, they give the city a very mundane atmosphere.
Unfortunately, due to the stormy days before, the sea water wasn’t as clear as usual. Those rocks on the sea floor that we see as shadows, can usually be seen in full detail through meters of pristine water.

Hello
I know this place. I was there and the boat sailed. Marine charming panorama of the magnificent cliffs. Beautiful colors, nice light and clouds nicely presented.
Nicely composed picture with flowers in the foreground.
Best regards
Slawomir
