I captured this shot whilst walking at Woolacombe Bay in Devon in the middle of the summer of 2010. It was a really hot day and I like the way that still shows through, even in B&W. I used automatic focus and no filters. I did set the comtrast high to try to emphasize the shadows and highlights. I like the balance of this picture with the surfer about to head energetically into the waves whilst the walker looks completely chilled out at the same moment...
