Photographer's Note

Cargo vessel Wilhelmina-Arina pushes out of the lock of Enkirch on Mosel river. Water level is controlled by locks and have made Mosel river navigable to ships up to length of 110 metres. Navigable stretch is 270 km from Koblenz up to Neuves-Maisons in France. Capacity of locks limits the amount of traffic on Mosel, and work of doubling the locks is under way.
