Photographer's Note
This historic small Roman Catholic Chapel stands on a rocky hill above a small village about 100 km South-west of Budapest. There is no definite information about its origin, but it is assumed, that it was originally built in the 11th century, but mostly destroyed during the Turkish occupation of Hungary during the 17th century, After the end of Turkish occupation it was reconstructed in 1725, and was used as a church until the village built a new parish church in 1847. Since then it is used as a chapel

Hi Barnabas,
What a long history this unique building has, and I can honestly say I have never seen a church like this before. It is like something from a fairy tale. Fascinating place, and thanks for sharing your knowledge of it through your capture.
All the best
Noel

Hello Barnabas,
This chapel certainly has a very special design, a bit the shape of a mushroom.
It's beautifully built on top of the hill, overlooking the entire village.
Your point of view is at least at the same high altitude and you included well a part of the village and the countryside behind it.
Beautiful presentation.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Barnabas,
What a beautiful little chapel! The colors and light are well managed, and the sharpness is very nice. I can make out the lightning rod and the conductor going to ground. Nice, informative photo and note, a perfect fit for TE!
Regards,
MT
