Photographer's Note
Vuelta de Rocha
Meaning: “Vuelta “: turn, Rocha: name of the Avenue (a merchant and rancher)
History
This site was used by Admiral William Brown, founder of the Armada Argentina, to establish the barracks of his squadron during the war against the Empire of Brazil, which is why it was declared Historic Site in l948
Description of the place from right to left
The Riachuelo (small river) which has its water highly polluted, so they are dark brown, here it manages (poor one) to reflect the sky
At the end ( not seen but present) is Rio de la Plata, the river at which side is Buenos Aires, so at the far back there are cranes working at the port
The two bridges made in England with iron (not working now) and an elevated highway to cross from Buenos Aires city to Buenos Aires province
Along Vuelta De Rocha are very colored buildings, one a museum, the color is characteristic of the quartier, where people from Italia arrived and live long time ago
Finally where the taxis are (yellow and black ones) It is located a bust of Admiral Guillermo Brown ( July Vergotini work), this is the place where Caminito , a very touristic place begins (there is also a famous tango with its name)
In this small cove that describes the course of the Riachuelo, the square is called “Of the Sighs”, because in this place people from Genoa would met to remember nostalgically his distant homeland
The Photo
Was taken from the terrace of a café situated on top of a modern, beautiful Museum
Location: Av Pedro de Mendoza and Del Valle Iberlucea, La Boca., Buenos Aires

Hello Maria,
These wide views are not always easy to compose but you have achieved a fine curve, to lead the viewers around the harbour, from the f/g to the b/g. There is a lot of activity and lots of details for the viewers to absorb. I particularly like the reflections in the water.
Have a great day,
Bev :-)

Hola Maria,
Managed to include interesting elements on one pic.: The port and cranes, wonderful wwaterfront promenade, filled with people stroll along, and city buildings in diff. colors on left. Yellow/black taxi-cans added a vivid tone here. Nice view from a terrace, under fairly-mild light.
You gaver good directions on your note. Always interesting to know.
Buen dia.

Ciao Maria

Luis.

Hi Maria
Great ideas having a little go at street photography from above watching the vista and people going about their business down below. A well spotted scene obviously worthy and nice exploitation of the high viewpoint what I call a birds eye view. Love the simple strength of this, specks of vivid colors perspective, composition and placement just stood there. That's striking against the setting that really makes you take a closer look it's not only a photo work but this appeals in a big way to me. Well done, Congrats!
Warm regards

Hola Maria!
I like the repetition of the cranes along the horizon. Good sharpness and a superb high vantage point. The sweeping 'c' shaped curve of the bay at right adds good lead in lines. Nice reflections in the water also. The people and taxis add scale and context. Tfs!

Hola maria,
Pictures along a waterfront are always fun and exciting ones for me, I like the lively atmosphere that's usually generated. There seems to be more activity in such areas, and this is a good example of just that. This particular shot reminds me a lot of Portland, Oregon with the bridges, multi-colored buildings and the people out and about enjoying the day...or even going to work. :) The surface of the water almost looks like glass, it's silky smooth and has rendered some solid reflections. An upbeat and energetic photo, this is a great look at the daily life aspect. Hope you had a nice weekend. Enjoy the day ahead.
Friendly wishes,
Jason
p.s. Thank you for your support of my pictures from France...as you well know, it's one of my absolute favorites. :) Bonsoir, mon ami!

Hi Maria!
Thanks for sharing this! I've been to La boca many times when I visited Argentina in 2011 but I ever knew this POV. Thanks for sharing this. I'll definitely check out this cafe that you were telling. I love his post cause it shows not just the beautiful colored houses of La boca but also the serene water scene which is beside this lovely place. Great shot, love the street scene, looks like it's a bit quiter and looks more organized.
Best regards,
Matt

maria

Hi Maria,
i remember La Boca very well, we had short visit there for a few hours. It was a colorful place and many tourists, I felt that Palermo was a better area for me. You have choosen a good spot for this shot, excellent overview of the area and good sharpness and clarity. I took a Taxi at the Taxi station to the left, by the way:)
Best regards/
