These picture is taken two weeks ago, together with the previous picture from Bruges "Bruges: Our of Lady" this on another place "De Coupure" 2 km of the market of centre of Bruges
The picture shows the marina of Bruges for a small part against the special bridge.
See my second picture with a view of the bridge.

Conzett Bridge

These place is a little exterior the city but a very good place for a good stroll.
This port is only for visitors. He is in the very lovely old town of Bruges, urban, yet very quiet and close to shops, restaurants and the historic part of the city.
The port has major facilities.
Getting in and out of the harbour to get the Conzett bridge to be opened
In 2002 Swiss engineer Jürg Conzett opened up the city ramparts with this ingenious design spanning the Coupure.
Two steel pipes are supported by four solid walls and the roadway is attached to the pipes with cables.
When the pipes rotate on their axis, the roadway is raised.
Brilliant in its simplicity and perfectly integrated in the surroundings.
