Fontaine Saint-Léon, a photo from Alsace, Est

Photographer's Note

Il s'agit d'une fontaine de forme octogonale qui est une des plus imposante de la région Alsace. Le bétail venait s'y abreuver et les habitants y puiser l'eau pour des usages domestiques. Une statue de Saint-Léon est placée au sommet de cette fontaine. Elle a été sculptée par un nommé Hugel de Sélestat et placée en 1842 financée par la famille Brucker et bénie en 1880 par M. le chanoine Sattler.

Bonjour Serge,

Les maisons cadrent bien la fontaine, La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de la fontaine et des maisons. La bonne luminosité met en valeur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Bonjour Serge,

Le point de vue est sympa, en particulier avec ces fleurs égayant la fontaine, la photo est plaisante même si la netteté n'est pas parfaite (notamment sur les volets de la maison).

This is a super definition of picturesque! I sure wish we had such quaint and well manicured public sqaures here in Phoenix, but then again...we don't have nearly the same history as Europe. It appears evident that you consciously composed this with the fountains statue filling the gap between rooftops...smart! :) Beautiful in every regard! Enjoy the rest of the day. Take it easy.

brilliant the light as vivid the colours of the scene as enhanced from the well captured image.I like the architectural style of the house on the backdrop the flowers on the pots under the windows with the impressive fountain to dominating the area.The variety of the flowers that decorate it,make it very attractive and unique.

Such a charming picture with lovely colours and sharpness. The circular pool with the statue and the flowers makes a very attractive foreground for the traditional houses which again are decorated with pretty flowers :). Salut Serge, très bonne photo de cette source intéressante dans le magnifique village d'Eguisheim, (village que nous avons visité en Juillet de cette année), très bien capturé dans cette belle image avec une bonne netteté, belle lumière, la couleur et la qualité. This is a delightful scene which lends itself perfectly to photography. There is so much colour and graph ism in the flowers and the characteristic half timbered buildings. The fountain makes a great central feature.
I like how you have set the fountain off centre and included people for animation.

che splendore questa piazza, L'Alsazia è una regione ricca di belle piazze, ogni villaggio ha un suo centro arricchito da fontane e fiori. Questa in particolare non la conoscevo e devo dire che è una delle più belle e tu hai saputo presentarcela molto bene.

Je me souviens de cette jolie fontaine. Lors de mon passage en mai les fleurs n'étaient pas aussi abondantes pour la garnir. Toutes ces jolies fleurs décorent agréablement bien l'environnement de la fontaine. Bravo. TFS.
