Photographer's Note
This is the view, again from Terrace 5, looking up the Acropolis to the northwest. It would seem that the intent was to build a staircase all of the way up from the floor of 5 to the temple sitting atop Terrace 6, on the left. Here, at its base, is a palapa that shelters a stucco frieze. My guide intimated that in fact the frieze might serve as a front for a tomb. Also, some grating may be seen in the ground where a sarcophagus was housed.
