This was one scary experience crossing the glacier near Chattru village during the final leg of Hampta Pass trek in Himachal Pradesh, India.

The glacier was basically old hardened snow somewhat wet in broad daylight and inclined at an angle of 45˚ towards the ferociously flowing Chandrabhaga river on the right.

It was difficult to find tight grip on the ice even with our technical trekking footwear and one slide of 35-40 feet would have had us landing in Chandrabhaga and that's it! End game!!
