Photographer's Note

The EY Tower is a 42 storey neomodern building, built on the site of the demolished Art Deco Concourse Building. The base of the new tower include elements of the demolished building. This picture shows one those elements, a mosaic above door. It was made by JEH MacDonald in 1928, he was one of the Group of 7 famous Canadian painters. It is a symbolic representation of the four elements, earth (produce from the fields), air (stars and birds), fire, and water (fish swimming). The whole door is shown in the Workshop.
