Into the City, a photo from California, Ouest

Photographer's Note

I don't know if this qualifies as travel photography, as it's just a few miles from my home! This is downtown Los Angeles, through the eyes of a 12 mm (non-fisheye) lens. I'll leave it to the viewer to speculate how the photo was taken; it did not involve a parachute.

This is best viewed from a meter or two back from your computer screen.

it is a very good image Ken, the compo is good and the moment is great - those two cars under those bridges and the yellow taxi - good timing. nice colors also and interesting effect of wide angle distortion. interesting work

Wow Ken, this photo is tops, the point of vie wis excellent, great DOF and I like the fisheye like effect. Plus the taxi is perfect, as without it the pic would lose half its personality. Please tell s how you took it.

Some great angles and interesting details here, in terms of whether to post - remember it may be 'a few miles from home' to you but for someone like myself it is a whole different world (BTW most of my posts are from close to where I live, the North Yorkshire Dales UK).

Very fun and kooky lens distortion that I find both fun and effective, Ken! The motion blur from the taxi adds even more information. You make this city look exciting and unique.

Going back to your roots...

I like it a lot, Ken.
Is it because I'm an urban junkie, or (most likely) it's a great shot of a big city.
That fish-non-fish-eye lens - incredible piece of photo engineering .
And you certainly know how to use it!
