Photographer's Note
in the street of Harar there are hundreds of addicted, from beggars to policemen ,from youth to tootless old who help themselves crushing khat leaves in wooden mortars into a pulp easy to swallow. Khat is everywhere and bulged mouths too.
This is last in the series, this time a close portrait.

Hi Swiatek, the lush green on the wall and the happy curls on this guy's head, probably don't match the situations he lives in.
It's a a doublesided portrait. Mainly pretty sad, even though this khat seems to get these people out of their misery for a bit, for just a while.
Nice.
cheers Sarah

no nie wiem co tam goście napiszą o tym ale dla mnie to zdjęcie jest uosobieniem twoich wizji świata, coś o tym wiem tak myślę;
bombastic!

hi,
not sure why i like this one less than your previous post but i guess it's not as nice a composition (and no overexposed parts) and while he is looking anguished and expressive, it also looks like he might have been blinking or something, making that face by accident.
also maybe it's just generally harder to look at because it's more raw.
