Photographer's Note

The kids in the Solomon's have such amazing water skills, most of the time we will be miles off shore and you will find 5-7year old kids in there own canoe. Even at night with no moon they seem to get around. This shot has some of the local goods shown. In the white bowl there is betel nut. She is from the Linimasu village in the Florida island group.

Hello Rich.

The deep blue and the smudges of green are what first strikes me, then of course the arresting eyes and curious smile of the young girl. A great shot with a lot of personality and feeling.

The only compositional criticism I can think of would be to get the shot from straight above instead of slightly to the side for added symmetry, but short of standing inside the boat it's hard to do. Once more, great shot.
