Hello sohrab,
i made a little break with TE and when i come back i just see the nice one !
great to see picture from your youth ;-)
what a gaze and fine conbination with the low point of view,
i also like the almost dramatic mood and the rich tones.
Take care.

Yes, I agree with Miguel: I frequently find that the strength in several of your photographs are the eyes. The look of some of your subjects. Appealing and magnetic, talking to us beyond the image itself. Like this one. Cheers.

Hi Sohrab,
His eyes! Such a strong look, almost scared. Beautiful and catching.
Good to see you again, Sohrab, hope you are well.

Hi Sohrab,
excellent mood, the children seem very mistrustful and you have captured that very well. Great BW, nice technique. It reminds me of the original National Georgraphic photos.

He does look scared- I guess it goes with the title. He has an older look to him, not so young and free. The corn provides some great surroundings- random and complex. I like the frame as well; like a movie still. Great black and white!

Hey bro, hope your connection gets better eventually!!!
As for this pic, well I see it as a combination between you and flydragon, something in between, not that this is a bad thing but not as impactfull as your other images. Had a look at your lightstalkers new images and IMO they beat this one hands down.
Please upload the other once here!!

Miguel is right, his eyes cauhgt all atencion, and your theme name "uncertain destiny" makes all the sense here, it's almost like they are entering into the unknow... and they are...
Glad to see you back, this is super

Sohrab,
Welcome back with a profoundly poetic and moving human document. The technical quality of the photo is astonishing, but that is only scratching the surface of this photo. I see that you have penetrated deep within a remote Indian tribal society the likes of which is rare to find in the records of any Indian photographer except in professional anthropological documents. The photo itself is a paragon of expressivity. Look forward to more posts.

good to see you back, Mr Sohrab. I checked the new images on lightstalkers, i wish you had posted the ones i liked the most - you have some splendid works there.... and this one is nice, but not spectaular on its own, maybe as a part of a story, but now i see a group of kids in the field, one is looking at you and i dont know what is it about... beautiful B&W again. nice work, waiting for the great ones
so finally you are doing a serious project, bravo. i wish i was doing sth serious as well ;) i got a proposal from a guidebook to do some pics for them in clubs, shops and bars in Cardiff, but not sure whether to take it or not... the deadline in 10 days and no payment, maybe in the future with another their publication, and i'd have to deal with model release stuff. i'd do it only for myself, to try this kind of photography, i'll see...

beautiful Sohrab..this is very much kind of learning material for me.. the POV and the subject is spuerb.. you always come with some extra ordinary images in your gallery and this is no exception.

Beuatiful composition, Sohrab. It seems to been shot by a cultural anthropologist in the 50's not October 2005. The little kids expression is adorable, caught in the act. Excellent POV to capture the feel of this scene.

I'm so glad that you are back with your photos and what a photo it is;
another great B&W done by your hand.
but the most interesting thing in this photo is of course the motive;
childrent playing/walking in the corn field...
touchy, emotional,
and there's a beautiful look that this boy gave to you...
poetical as always...

Fantastic and striking photo. Your feel for this kind of really serious work is amazing. I feel that you elevate the art beyond levels others would even dream of.
Id like to ask you for your PBase address if you have one. Or of any place where you have your online album. I feel that the weakness of TE is that we are not able to group our photos in galleries where the impact can be increased through the homogeneity of subject matter or style.

sohrab,
this is an eyecatchin' one;very nicely captured,his eyetouch with your camera is very pretty and maybe with a little fear.is that very normal to be naked for that child there or was he posing for you,I couldn't understand.
regards
