Photographer's Note

In late April, 1827, John Galt and Tiger Dunlop founded Guelph, at the confluence of the Speed and Eramosa Rivers. Formerly the Ryan Mansion, on the outskirts of Guelph, this home, in what is now considered downtown, was declared a heritage site just last week, the owners having changed it from a multi-unit rooming house to a single family dwelling.
