I think you've done a very good job of composing this shot. The rocks (the subject) are prominent, by shooting them from a low angle you create a feeling of weight. Leaving the area of sky on the right frames them nicely, and you caught the parallel lines in the rocks and the greenery on the right.
The light direction was bad for this shot, back lit subjects are hard to shoot.
That said, you can recover the surface detail of the rocks with a little bit of editing. I took the shot into PSE, used the "Fill Flash" routine, a bit of contrast boost and sharpening to bring out the rock surfaces.
