Photographer's Note
Wandering the back streets of Amritser came to a small square with people sorting the rubbish. Nearby a child was trying to sleep amidst the noise of traffic and people. Her pillow a brick wall, her sheet an old sack....Makes you wonder about life doesn't it !

Hi Christopher,
A scene so common in the streets of third world countries. You've captured it very well.
How could we resist in sharing your (and her) feelings !

It makes me feel bad giving a smiling face to an image like this. So I guess the image works.

Sometimes I do wonder, what is gonna happen to all these children. I never approach them in a personal way, however, I often see their harsh lifestyle and uncertain future through photographs. This makes me feel more fortunate for what I have comparing with those kids. Your post really sends a message. Well done.

Well done in capturing the mood and the moment. It really conveys what the little girl is feeling. Great on the technical aspect as well (color, cropping, etc).

Nice shot dear you depicted the real picture of Misery I think you have taken it in winters and the kid is saving himself from the harshness of winter by this jute piece.

Hi Christopher,
what a sad reality. I love that you emphasize on these facts. A cruel but amazing portrait of this poor little girl. A great documentation.
Thank you for sharing.

thanks christopher for bringing distressful life of footpath children in your subject of photography. very few of us really bother to know how thery are being brought up amid so much difficulties. they hardly get food once in a day. no provision for education. they become daily labour even before crossing their childhood.

Wow, great photo. This could be in National Geographic.
...and no it doesn't make me wonder. People are ignorant. Money is the most important thing in most peoples lives. This child is so far away the ydon't have to think about it.
