Photographer's Note

"I close my eyes, only for a moment,
and the moment's gone

All my dreams, pass before my eyes, a curiosity
Dust in the wind, all they are is dust in the wind.
Same old song, just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do, crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see

Dust in the wind, all we are is dust in the wind

Don't hang on,
nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky
It slips away,
and all your money won't another minute buy.

Dust in the wind, all we are is dust in the wind
Dust in the wind, everything is dust in the wind."

I just came back from my amazing trip through Russia, Mongolia and China. As some of you might know already :-) I've already visited many deserts in different places, but this time yet again I've been rewarded with new and different experience and light conditions.

I've woke up very early in a hope to catch beautiful sunrise at sand dunes. They seemed only about 15 min walk from the place we stayed. Deceiving 15 min turned into 2 hours of walk and sun decided to play mysterious role with me and was hidden behind clouds so I missed the really deep red colors I was hoping for. It was very chilly and windy morning and the sand was constantly blowing over the dunes. Which on one side created great photographic possibilities, on the other side, I ended up with sand everywhere and just hoped it would not get inside of the camera. And as I was wondering around and enjoying the majestic views of dunes my sight landed on this beautiful play of shadow and light on dunes with blowing sand over it and with sun shining through the flying sand.

It is slightly different desert photo than we are used to but I am very happy with the artistic results it creates, even I've originally went there for very typical sunrise desert photos.
