Photographer's Note
Another shot of a short walk through the Himalayas, this is a small Garjar family moving up to the summer pastures with their livestock, a beautiful area above Sonamarg at around 10,000 feet were there was a beautiful ice lake full of dark, 9 inch long brown trout.

Hello, Siman--
Nice work here, certainly very moody, with the silhouetted horses on the band of ice adding some good impact to the foreground interest. Nicely seen and composed.
Thanks!

This is a timeless image and could actually be older than it is. That is just another reason why it suits being taken in B&W.

Hi Simon, I agree with Kath, this is timeless, the hard work of the mules has been portraied superbly & the thickness of the ice showes the bitter cold, B/W dose make it look very early 1900s, this is a wonderful photo for TE, I love to see how people live & their environment & this shot gives both very well, kind regards Wilson.
