Photographer's Note
A detail of this famous Leeds building.
From the net.
'No 1 City Square is a dominant feature in Leeds city centre, overlooking City Square near Leeds main railway station. It has white walls, art deco references and an atrium with glass windows. It is similar to and perhaps inspired by BBC Broadcasting House in London. Opened in 1998 it was designed by Abbey Hanson Rowe, later Abbey Holford Rowe'.

A fine architectural study, Stephen, and your viewpoint looking directly up at the building has emphasised it's strong lines. I also like how you used the sculpture to fill the foreground.
The strong light and absence of clouds in the blue sky really suits the hard edged graphic nature of the modern architecture.
The side of the building above the sculpture looks slightly over-exposed, but it would be easy to darken this in the editing software. It's not really that much of a problem.
Good work.
Cheers,
Ben

Hi Stephen,
I like the perspective you have chosen for this shot, showing the different elements of the building against the deep blue sky.
Best regards,
Paul.

Great perspective on this, with the building lines converging towards the sky in an unsual view. The statue of the birds adds a nice touch, both interesting in itself and also as a comment on man made vs. nature and whether our urban life has pushed nature completely away, except for pre packaged and tame displays. Well done!

Would never expect this type of
shot from you Stephen, but am glad
to see it now.
Visually very interesting with only
4 colours (white, black, blue and grey),
nice sense of perspective and something
to think about... the architecture that
surrounds us (or at least those who live
in Leeds).
;-D
