Photographer's Note

This arch of triumph is located in the northern part of Bucharest. This arch has a height of 27 meters and was built after the plans of the architect Petre Antonescu.

About this picture:
During this trip in Romania, I didn't bring a tripod so my only stable platform was my gorillapod (http://www.joby.com/). My only anchor point was a little barrier near the road, that's why the point of view is near the ground. For the ray of light at the bottom of picture, it was impossible to take a picture with a long shutter speed without a car crossing the lens during the shot (heavy traffic road).

Salut Francis,

j'aime bien la texture et le cadrage. J'aurais cependant mis la photo droite car elle semble tanguer vers la gauche.

J'adore l'idée du contre-jour avec le début de la nuit.

Hello Francis,
An excellent photo of this arch. I thought that it was Paris until I read your notes. You did a great job of keeping this photo sharp without a tripod. Without your "gorillapod" your photo would not have worked. Any type of supporting device is always useful. Beautiful photograph!

Hi Francis,
This is good shot showing night view of this architecture. I like your idea of carrying gorillapod. I also don't have a tripod and looking after some pocketable alternative.
Here, the deep blue background and the lighting sources are looking nice.
