Photographer's Note
Class BDhe4/8 train of Jungfraubahn leaving Kleine Scheidegg towards the highest railway station in Europe, Jungfraujoch at 3454m. The mountain in the background is Mönch.
The railway has 1m gauge and uses rack and pinion all it's 9.3 km route. Mostly open air section to Eigergletscher station was opened in 1898. Most of the route goes in tunnel inside Eiger and Mönch mountains and the top part of the route to Jungfraujoch was opened in 1912.

Terve Kari,
The image as a whole is a bit hazy but the way the Mönch and the Glacier dominate the small train is impressive. I see you're placing yourself in the right mood ;-)
Have a nice day,

WOW Kari,
wonderful photo! good 18mm...
Perhaps low in contrast but is wonderful.
I like very much your POV and the train (for me a good idea).
The mountain behind is scary as regardshow the height.
Good work.

Composition is very good Kari. It's a pity the light is too diffuse and a bit hazy. But the scenery is very impressive and the inclusion of the train is... you know... essential! :)

Hello Kari
La parfaite combinaison d'un image suisse : Une montagne et un petit train.
Dommage que la luminosité n'était pas top.

Hi Kari.
Excellent picture. It's great how you showed us how big the mountain is thanks to the train.
A smart compo!

Hello!
it 's easier to combine train and moutain than left and right eyes ;-)
thi moutain is really big due to the size of the train but i don't think it's an optic effect. really impressive picture with a nice pov.
regards.
Claude.

Bonjour Kari,
interessante photo sur ce train très particulier , il me rappelle le train à crémaillère qui circulait entre Zermatt et le Gornergrat.
Sommet très impressionnant avec ses glaciers un peu perdu dans un léger voile.
Best regards.
Daniel.

Kari,
Great decisive moment captured here with the train passing through this great scene. The mountain dwarfs the train and makes it look like a toy. The lighting and colors are great here with nice sharpness and detail.

Hey Kari,
Amazing shot! I like the addition of the train in this photo. It makes the mountain look much larger! I also like the colour and sharpness of the greass/train, then as the eye moves up the photo to the mountain, it gets grey and hazy. I think it puts into perspective the size and roughness of the mountain.

You have captured the sheer scale of the Bernese Alps here brilliantly. Polariser might have helped get a bluer sky, also the train might have been nicer in the centre of the shot, but as I said, you got the grandeur of the mountain and that was the important thing here.

A well made capture of the train in this most impressive mountain landscape Kari. The vertical format lets you include lots of details and very effectful the change from green to the rough peak in the back.

Hi Kari,
I see you're warming up for your Swiss holidays. ;o)
I really like the way the train seems tiny compared to the Mönch in the back. The mountain is a bit hazy but I have no problem with that because that's the way it is in the summer when the weather is sunny. If the air is all nice and clear it usually means that it has just been raining or that it's just about to rain! ;o)
Enjoy your holidays.

Very impressive composition. The mountain looks so huge, the train almsot looks like a toy. The soft rendering works quite well here. Very well done.

Hello,
WOW ! Impressive view of the Mönch north face.
A nice swiss typical view.
May be the background with the mountain could have a bit more contrast.
Greetings.

Beautiful shot. The mountain looks majestic. The picture makes me want to take a ride on the train, which incomparisment looks so little.

Hi Kari - all you need is a big fat cow to complete the stereotypical swiss scenery, at least the cute japanese express and the majestic alps make a fine enough represantation.

Kari, this is a magnificant shot, the colors are clean and clear and the detail is fine. The train and the building give this huge mountain scale and it is a great capture. Well seen.
