Photographer's Note
View through the cables of Brooklyn Bridge to the Manhattan skyline. I liked all the angles of the cables framing the skyline and thought it would look good in B&W.
This is a scan of a (good quality) print done on an Epson combined scanner/copier/printer. I was quite mpressed with the results.
Adjusted vertical perspective a bit, increased contrast and sharpened.

Fantastic angle Graham, showing both the bridge and the city. The B&W works well.

A very good picture of a fantastic city. Nice contrasts and DOF. Why not crop away the brick foundation, leaving the sky-line with the "web" in front and retitle it to "Trapped" ;-)

J'aime bien votre photo, pour ce superbe n&b et la lumière. Je suis moins convaincu par la composition, le pilier droit est soit trop présent ou pas assez (IMHO).

Had to be original with this subject, but you've managed it here Graaham, can't add much, just to agree with the others.

Wow! This is a winner Graham, a feast for the eyes. I'm amazed that this is a scanned print. The image is wonderfully crisp, which is absolutely necessary for a composition with so many strong lines. Your choice to opt for black and white is excellent, as is the increased contrast. Great work!

A very original picture with a very good point of vue. I hope you have not taken too much risks to take this shot on this gate. B&W gives a great aspect and increase these lines in the foreground. THe DOF takes into account all the scene and the buildings in the background are prety well detailed.

Very graphic and very effective image.
I think a little more grit/grain/noise, whatever you want to call it might have helped to break down the smoothness of the shot but this is purely subjective and is just how I imagine New York (thanks to decades of excellent B/W street photos from there).

Very good BW. I like a lot the geometrics in this photo. I wopuld only crop a bit of the right because I find the tip of ther right pillar a bit distracting, but that's a minor thing.

Very nice indeed. Great choice of framing and the B&W works a treat. Also great DoF and sharpness. I think this shot has it all!

Excellent subject for black and white. It brings to mind the great photos of New York made in the early part of the last century. The bridge is not only an interesting pattern, it also superimposes a powerful structure on a powerful city - a good compositional idea.

Awesome shot Graham!
This is one landmark I've always wanted to shoot. But first, I have to get myself to New York.
It's something about the lines of the Brooklyn bridge that are just awe inspiring. The option are limitless...
Cheers,
Dan
