Photographer's Note

The South Lipez desert, in South Western Bolivia, is an amazing part of our world. Snow capped volcanoes, weird colored lakes dotted with flamingoes, and strange rocks formations like this mashroom, more than 10 meters high, are spread over a roughly 300 x 300 Km2 area. In july the sky is clean and deep blue, due to the high altitude, above 4000 meters.

The area can be visited by organized 4-wheel drive tours in La Paz or Uyuny, which usually take 4 days and 3 nights (which is still far to short to fully appreciate the beauty of this place, to my opinion).
it is a must if you visit this country. I strongly suggest not to miss this wonderful part of our earth.
