Using PS:

I adjusted the levels (using the auto-levels).
I used the Unsharp Mask Filter to give the shot a little bit more sharpness.
Finally I reduced the brightness of the shot.

The only thing I don't like is the effect created on the boys shirt, but I didn't notice it until I had already posted the workshop!
