Just changed the perspective. IN the process I got a close crop but with a larger coverage the main subject can be photographed without the barrel effect.

I have adjusted the color curves along with brightness and contrast and finally added a 25% blue filter. The curves adjusted were RGB negatively from origin, red positively from origin and blue negatively from origin. The contrast was increased and the brightness compromised.
