Intro: Hi there! My name is Su Lucas. I'm from South Africa, living in the sometimes beautiful, sometimes tough, never boring city of Johannesburg.

I bought my Coolpix 950 in 2001 for work purposes. I am a radiologist and involved in teaching undergraduate- and post-graduate students, so I need to photograph x-rays for lectures, presentations and publication in journals. I needed a camera with good macro capabilities, and the Coolpix 950 fulfilled those criteria very well. However, I never imagined I could have such a lot of fun with it in ALL spheres of life.

Jan 2004: I won't be posting any further pics from the 950, because my camera was stolen out of my luggage on holiday in December. I have recently replaced it with the Coolpix 3100 as my general point-and-shoot camera.

I am very much an amateur photographer, and I already have learnt a lot here from you guys at TE. Thank you!
