The Kathakali theater traditions grew particularly rich in the state of Kerala. Cochin is one of the few places in Kerala where you will be able to witness a Khatakali dance drama almost any night, thanks to several cultural centers dedicated to reviving this elaborate art which combines mime, dance and theater. The actors need 7 years of training to learn how to express any human emotion mostly by facial and hand movements.
